Kevin Troy

Thank you so much for the great honor. It has truly been an absolute pleasure working for the RP Group for so many years and building my craft through stellar projects with the RP Family.

Working for Roman-Pictures has become a part of my life. It's now second nature to push, build and seek new ideas to grow as an actor and as a team player with the Roman-Pictures group. This group of actors, producers, director and crew all have the drive and determination to succeed and will not stop for anything or anyone. When Carlos Roman is told he can't do something or it shouldn't be done...he does it, and does it well. With over 20 years of experience, class and dedication to the craft is displayed in every scene and the amount of energy Carlos generates is incomparable.

Again, thanks for everything and I am truly honored.

Being known as the man with the “IT” factor is just the beginning of what makes Kevin Troy someone to set your sights on, for he is far from your average entertainer. Troy’s passionate love affair with entertainment and performance began while growing up in the small town of Moreauville, Louisiana.  His up-bringing was guided by his mother, who instilled in him the principals of strong work ethic, self reliance and faith that all things are possible.  He took those same principals with him to Grambling State University and the United States Marine Corps.

During his tour overseas, defending his country and fellow Marines, Troy was often in harm’s way and had a hunger to live and succeed.  The experiences he had and lessons he learned gave him a stronger will to survive and a greater push to achieve excellence in all things.  Amongst the many lessons learned, he realized that remaining steadfast and exemplifying leadership allowed Troy to be a thriving and valuable member of the US Marine Corps.

While serving in the Marines, Troy found himself stationed in Okinawa, Japan.  He had already found ease on stage, behind the microphone, from his time at GSU, where he took speech and theatre at the Dunbar School of Theatre.  He also took instruction in modern dance and vocal training.  It was no surprise when he easily adapted to the Japanese market and began vocal performances in various venues.

Upon returning to the US, Troy continued venturing into music, and also began to pursue acting.  He vocally performed and acted in Georgia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C.  He appeared in several film productions at The Art Institute of Washington, expanded on voice over work, and appeared as a stunt car driver in XXX 2 State of the Union.

In 2007, Troy received word of auditions from Carlyn Davis Casting.  CDC was interested in him for several roles, simply because he’d branched out and broadened the scope of his auditions and inquiries. As a result, he landed the principal role of Agent Kaplan in the Sci-Fi Original Signals by Roman Pictures, which won Best Action Film in 2008 at the New York Independent Film Festival and was screened in L.A, New York City and Washington, D.C.

As it had in his past, Troy’s dedication to his craft and his determination to succeed has strengthened his desire to keep pursuing cinema.  Being a man of versatility, he thinks outside of the box and has broadened his scope by penning scripts.  He realizes that there is limited work for African American male actors and chooses to be a catalyst for changing the norm.  With writing and visioning in similar tones to Stephen King, George Lucas, Spike Lee and Stephen Spielberg, it is Troy’s goal to push African American male actors into slightly uncharted territory by branching out into Horror and Science Fiction films.

Troy deems his crowning achievement, to date, to be his principal role in Browncoats Redemption, by Big Damn Fan Films, which recently wrapped production and premiered in Atlanta, GA Labor Day 2010 at DragonCon.   In Browncoats Redemption, Troy plays Lux Lucre, a well-known boxer who seeks refuge in leaving his past behind him.  He can also be seen on the big screen in Invasion and Body of Lies.  In addition, Troy hosts the television news program, Washington Roman Pictures News (WRPN), directed by Carlos Roman.

Troy hopes to ultimately step behind the camera and watch his screenplays come to life.  Recently he completed his first screenplay, “Damned”, which is being reviewed as a SAG Low-Budget.  The project is scheduled for production in 2011, along with the release of his novel titled, Damned, the Dawning of Man.

Troy’s cache of talents and persistence makes him an intriguing and fresh asset in the entertainment industry.  Currently, Troy lives and works in Washington D.C.  He has a non-exclusive agreement with the American Talent Management (ATM) for representation out of New York City.
